Our Story

Smith & Goldberg Dental (formerly Coffee Dental) was founded by Dr. Matthew Smith after he graduated from Georgia Regents University in 2013 and returned to his hometown of Douglas, Georgia. What started as a single-dentist practice has grown into a trusted dental home for families across Coffee County.

In recent years, Dr. Jacob Goldberg joined the practice, expanding the team's ability to serve the community. The practice is now known as Smith & Goldberg Dental, reflecting this partnership while maintaining the same commitment to quality, affordable dental care that patients have relied on for over a decade.

Dr. Matthew Smith, DMD

Dr. Matthew Oliver Smith earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology from Valdosta State University before completing his DMD at Georgia Regents University (formerly the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry) in 2013. Born and raised in Douglas, Georgia, Dr. Smith returned home after dental school to serve the community where he grew up.

He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association.

Outside the office, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda and their three children, as well as hunting and fishing in the South Georgia outdoors. His dedication to his patients reflects the same commitment to community that has defined his career from day one.

Dr. Jacob Goldberg, DMD

Dr. Jacob Goldberg is the newest addition to Smith & Goldberg Dental. Joining the practice to help meet the growing needs of the Douglas community, Dr. Goldberg brings fresh perspective and a passion for patient-centered dental care.

Together with Dr. Smith, he ensures that every patient receives thorough, compassionate treatment.
